Assam Scooty Scheme 2025 – Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award
The Assam Scooty Scheme 2025, officially known as Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under Pragyan Bharati Scheme, is an initiative of the Government of Assam to encourage meritorious students securing 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) Examination 2025.
The scheme is implemented by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam, and provides free scooters to eligible girl and boy students to support their higher education.

Aim of the Scheme
- To encourage students to perform better academically
- To motivate students to pursue higher education
- To improve mobility for accessing colleges and universities
- To enhance Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in Assam
Eligibility Criteria
- Student must secure 80% or more marks in HS Final Exam 2025
- Exam must be conducted by Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB)
- Students under betterment or reappearance category are NOT eligible
- Applicant must be a resident of Assam
- Students studying outside Assam are eligible with valid PRC of Assam
- The scheme is online application based
Distribution Process
- ASSEB will provide the list of students securing 80% and above
- Beneficiary list will be published on directorateofhighereducation.assam.gov.in
- Eligible students must fill the online application form
- DHE will notify Nodal Principals for distribution
- Students will collect Appreciation Certificate from Nodal Principal
- Certificate must be submitted to the allotted scooter dealer
- Government will bear registration and insurance cost
- Students will collect scooters from dealers without paying any amount
- Helmet will be provided free of cost
Important Points
- No offline applications will be accepted
- Government will not pay for extra scooter accessories
- In case of untimely demise of a student, guardian may choose to collect the scooter
- Beneficiaries are not eligible for Nijut Moina Scheme
- If a girl student opts out of this scheme, she may apply for Nijut Moina Scheme
